The Church

St. James Episcopal, Dundee is a quaint and charming ‘English Countryside Gothic’ church. It features a cruciform gothic building with a Norman tower and Tudor windows of exquisite stained glass. The church was constructed of brick from the Haeger Pottery Plant – our local ‘stone’.

The church seats 130 people comfortably. The organ is a Rogers Electronic and Pipe Organ, with seven ranks of pipes. The church bell is an original and is tolled by rope in the narthex. It serves to call worshippers, and as a mourning bell for funerals. The columbarium in the churchyard, which is set aside as the final resting place for the cremated remains of St. James faithful.
